  • Do you accept health insurance or Medicare?
    The office does not accept health insurance or Medicare. However, we will be happy to assist you in completing your insurance forms for out-of-network reimbursement. We also accept payment from your HSA plan payment card.
  • Do you offer telemedicine?
    Dr. Calvosa offers in-person treatment at her Manalapan office as well as telepsychiatry for patients who prefer to be treated remotely. Dr. Calvosa is licensed to practice both in-person and telepsychiatry in New Jersey and Virginia. She is also licensed to practice telepsychiatry in Florida.
  • What is the difference between a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist?
    A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (completed medical school and residency) with special training in psychiatry. A psychiatrist is able to conduct psychotherapy and prescribe medications and other medical treatments. A psychologist usually has an advanced degree, most commonly in clinical psychology, and often has extensive training in research or clinical practice. Psychologists treat mental disorders with psychotherapy and some specialize in psychological testing and evaluation
  • What can I expect at my initial evaluation?
    Your 90-minute evaluation with Dr. Calvosa is focused on your history to help her to evaluate and identify how to help you feel your best. It is most productive when first-time patients come with the following: Significant events in your life that have contributed to the issue(s) that brings you to us What you want to achieve Feelings and/or behaviors around issue(s) If you have taken psychiatric medication in the past please take some time to write down your medication history. This should include: The medication and reason why you took/take it The dosage The effects Any side effects Length of time you took/take the medication If you stopped, why?
